MyBenefits
MyBenefits is a web-based tool that provides information about New York State’s programs and services. It helps determine eligibility for state and federal assistance programs, including aid for home heating and groceries.
Benefits Check Up
BenefitsCheckUp is a free service provided by the National Council on Aging (NCOA), a non-profit organization focused on service and advocacy. The website asks a series of questions to help individuals identify benefits that could help save money and cover everyday expenses. You can apply for programs online or print an application form to mail.
Caregiving
New York Elder Caregiver Support Program
The Elder Caregiver Support Program offers support and assistance to individuals (such as spouses, partners, children, and friends) who are caring for an older person requiring help to stay at home in the community. Health & Wellness
Health Insurance Information, Counseling and Assistance Program (HIICAP)

More than 500 HIICAP counselors are available in local aging offices across the state and are trained to answer questions about Medicare, Medicare Advantage Programs (managed care), Medicare prescription drug coverage, Medigap, and other health and long-term care insurance issues.

Emergency Assistance for Adults (EAA)

Emergency Assistance for Adults (EAA) is designed to help individuals who are eligible for or receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) with their emergency financial needs. EAA can provide support in difficult situations, such as replacing lost, stolen, or undelivered SSI checks, offering funds to cover food expenses, or preventing eviction or utility shutoff.
Nutrition
Congregate and Home Delivered Meals
Healthy, nutritious meals are provided to New Yorkers aged 60+ and their spouses up to five days a week in a group setting. Services include nutrition education, counseling, and transportation.
